What is NTSE?

NTSE or National Talent search Examination is a national level exam conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for granting scholarships to the meritorious students studying in 10th Class.The examination is conducted at two levels: Stage-I (State Level) and Stage-II (National Level).

Syllabus for NTSE

Stage 1 –

a. Mental Ability Test(MAT)(100 Questions and 120 minutes) :

    Pattern, Deduction Based Questions to test mental ability/speed

b. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)(100 Questions and 120 Minutes) :

    Questions from Mathematics, Science and Social Science broadly based on the prescribed respective State Board Syllabus from Std 9th to 10th class.

Stage 2 –

a. Mental Ability Test (MAT)(100 Questions and 120 minutes) :

   Questions to test mental ability/speed.

b. Scholastic Aptitude Test(SAT)(100 Questions and 120 minutes)  :

    Questions from Science, Mathematics and Social Science.

How to apply

Eligibility Criteria for NTSE

1. Any student studying in class X can appear

2. Other Criteria vary from each state/UT for stage 1.

Registration for NTSE

For Stage 1-

1. Candidate need to contact Liaison Officer of your State/UT For Application.

2. Candidate are required to submit their application after getting it duly signed by the Principal of the school before the due date as advertised/circulated by your state /UT.

3. Candidate need to submit their application to their Liaison Officer of State/UT.

For Stage 2 –

1. No separate form has to be submitted for Stage-II examination.

2. The NCERT conveys the Roll Number, the venue and the time for the national level examination to all Stage-I qualified candidates directly through speed post.
