Noteworthy Points of the Chapter:
1. The male reproductive system is located in the pelvic region in humans.
2. The testes are situated outside the male abdominal cavity within a pouch called scrotum which maintains the temperature of testes 2-2.5 °C lower than the normal body temperature necessary for spermatogenesis.
3. Each testes has about 250 compartments called testicular lobules. Each compartment contains 1-3 highly coiled seminiferous tubules in which sperms are produced.
4. In a testis, each semniferous tubule is lined on its inside by two types of cells called male germ cells (spermatogonia) and Sertoli cells.
